The Scottish Wedding Show at the SECC is right around the corner (19-20/02), and if you're attending, we thought we'd share some tips to help you get the most out of it.
Going to a wedding show, such as The Scottish Wedding Show, is such an exciting experience and a really fun day out. But there are a few key things you need to know before you visit, if you want to get the maximum out of your trip.

Events like The Scottish Wedding Show offer a wonderful opportunity to shop and compare wedding services, while also gathering ideas and inspirations. All in one place. Plus, you can meet potential suppliers in person, and really get a feel for them as an individual. Something which can often be hard to do online.
A wedding show not only provides information and ideas for wedding planning, but is also a great way to spend a day with your wedding party, family, and fiancé. Not to mention the discounts, prizes, samples, free magazines, food tastings, makeovers, demonstrations, entertainment, and fashion shows all available for you to enjoy. All of which you will find upon entering The Scottish Wedding Show.
To help you make the most of your trip to The Scottish Wedding Show, we’ve rounded up the 7 key things every couple should know before visiting.
7 Things to Know Before Going The Scottish Wedding Show
1. Do Your Research
Before you go to the show, check who is exhibiting via their website. The Scottish Wedding Show has a comprehensive list of suppliers, and which stand they will be on. Thus allowing you to make a list of which people you need to visit, and where. Which will be a great help for anyone who may feel a little overwhelmed as they arrive!
But don't forget to make time for people who catch your eye too, they could have just what you didn't know you needed!
2. Make a Day of It
Allow yourself time to enjoy the show and take it all in. It’s lovely to visit an event like The Scottish Wedding Show with your other half, mum, bridesmaids, and other significant bridal party members and share this fun experience together.
Make your group feel like they're having a day out by including lunch, or drinks after/during the show. Our advice is to do one trip around the show, then a break, share your ideas and then revisit any stands or features which caught your eye. This will allow you the time, and energy, to have more detailed conversations whilst you’re in full creative mode.

3. Upgrade if You Can
The VIP experience at The Scottish Wedding Show can transform your visit from a lovely day out, into a fabulous opportunity to treat yourself and enjoy some luxury as you plan your wedding.
You’ll get exciting perks such as fast track entry, access to the VIP Lounge, a glass of bubbly, a seat in the front 3 rows of a selected Catwalk Show, a voucher for a half price cocktail and a copy of Tie the Knot Scotland magazine.
5. Watch the Fashion Shows
Get down to the catwalk with time to spare to make sure you’ve got a good spot to see the models, and the beautiful gowns up close! If you have a VIP ticket, you have seating guaranteed, offering that true 'front row' experience.

6. Dress Chic, But Comfortable
Even if you're desperate to wear heels, please leave them at home. You need to make sure your footwear is comfortable, and that you’ve got layers, in case you get too warm whilst you’re zooming about planning your big day.
It's a lovely experience getting dressed up for a day at The Scottish Wedding Show, but you should avoid having aching feet or being uncomfortable as you browse all the stands.
7. Ask Plenty of Questions
The Scottish Wedding Show provides couples with a rare experience these days, a face-to-face meeting with potential suppliers. Having the opportunity to explain what you want and ask questions is invaluable. Especially the ones you’ll spend time with on the big day, like your photographer or hair and makeup artist. You need to see if you click.
Opus Couture/Atelier will be exhibiting at The Scottish Wedding Show, so please feel free to come over and have a chat on stand 411C.
